The Black River is one of the longest River in Jamaica . It’s situated on the south coast of Jamaica in the parish of St Elizabeth, At a length of 53.4km or 33miles. It’s name refers to the darkness of the River bed caused by thicker layers of decomposing vegetation. Over 100 species of birds have been recorded in the Black River morass and crocodiles.
